The Automated Repo Vault keeps handovers isolated from the seller’s original repository.
Seller connects via GitHub OAuth. We run a background Gitleaks scan to ensure no API keys or .env secrets are accidentally committed.
If the code is clean, it is cloned into an isolated BoredBanana Vault repository, ready for handover.
Buyer pays. A read-only GitHub invite is sent to the vault copy — accept it, then clone. Funds are held for 3 days.
When the window closes or the buyer approves, the buyer gets admin on the vault copy. GitHub will not transfer an organization repo to another personal account; the buyer can then move it to themselves from repo Settings. Payout is marked released minus the fee.
Co-financing and help for unfinished repos. Not a buyout. Not a company sale.
Founder connects GitHub, picks a repo, and passes the secret scan. The original stays theirs — no vault sale.
Say why you’re stuck, what’s left, a funding goal, which roles would unblock the project, and optional tasks with a percent of a future peel sale of this repo.
Backers send a pledge or a help offer with a note. Until Stripe, pledges are preview — the founder still sees them.
Accepted help is a handshake. Merge the PR and the task accepts even after convert. Convert to a peel to sell a vault copy of the same repo — accepted task shares split from founder net after the fee. Priced modules can be bought on their own. Founder notes and platform numbers live on the card. Equity stays off-platform.
Help leftover repos. Free handshake or a share of a later peel sale. Not a job board. Not buying the vault copy.
Side Peels lists open bunch tasks, live bunches seeking help, and helper cards founders can ping. You do not hunt inside every bunch card.
Lend a hand for free, ping a helper card, or claim a task with a percent of founder net after the fee — only if that same repo later sells as a peel. Not a wage.
Need-help cards send you to the bunch: claim a task after the contributor terms, or offer a role. Founders ping helper cards with a note — GitHub is the contact, not a chat.
When the founder accepts the PR, the work moves to Solutions. Side Peels is discovery of open work — not a job board, not a wage, and not buying the vault copy.
Swap two scanned vault copies. Originals stay put. Optional cash is a top-up, not a second marketplace.
Each person needs a live peel: scan passed, vault copy frozen. Bunches cannot be swapped — the founder keeps that repo.
Open the other seller’s public page. Propose which vault you give, which you want, and an optional cash top-up. Even swaps are allowed.
Accept composts both listings and opens two Peel It Off deals. Each person is the buyer of one vault copy. Cash is preview until Stripe; the 10% fee is only on that cash.
Each copy has a 3-day window. Silence or approve on both completes the trade. A claim on one holds the pair; a refund relists both peels.
Not a job board
Side Peels is a public catalog of open Bunch work and of people willing to help leftover GitHub repos. It is discovery on top of Bunch. It is not a job board, a staffing agency, or a freelance marketplace that pays wages.
Swap, not a sale
Peel Trade — swap vault copies, not originals
Two listed peels, two vault copies. Propose a swap on the listing or the other person’s profile — even, or with a cash top-up. Same 3-day inspect windows as Peel It Off. Bunches stay bunches.
After the deal
Project Lifecycle & Growth Tracker
Projects that already moved on BoredBanana — a peel sale, accepted funding, or accepted work — then kept a public trail. Founder notes, shipped tasks, and on-platform facts. Not GitHub traffic and not MRR.
Sister floor
Not automation. Employment.
The two products do not share accounts, catalogs, or checkout. A peel is leftover source. An agent for hire is a worker with a Transparency Card. The bridge is the person who finishes the leftover work, then lists that worker where hiring happens.
